The Greater Moncton SPCA!

Here at Rescue Coffee, we care about the issues surrounding the positive welfare of our furry friends. That’s why we teamed up with one of our partners, The Greater Moncton SPCA (GMSPCA) to highlight the importance and logistics of operating animal shelters and the impact your support has!

Each year The Greater Moncton SPCA provides a safe haven for over 3,000 animals who need help finding a home in the Greater Moncton Area. It is the largest animal shelter east of Montreal. They provide care for sick, injured, homeless, lost, and unwanted animals and with so many animals in need of care that is no easy feat.

Here’s a few interesting factoids about the GMSPCA:
The Greater Moncton SPCA alone goes through 80 pounds of dog food, 30 pounds of cat food, 125 blankets and 200 pounds of cat litter a day!
&
6 to 10 new animals come into their care every day, while each year, they reunite 200 to 250 pets with their owners and arrange the adoption of 900 to 1,100 animals!
Their animal control officers intervene as many as 450 times a year with animals in need and families dealings with concerns and complaints.

All that hard work is facilitated by the 300 plus dedicated volunteers that help care for the animals yearly!

The GMSPCA is deeply rooted in its community, they are an accredited teaching facility for Oulton’s college veterinary tech program and are the sole provider of their animals. The GMSPCA also sits on the Animal Care Council for teaching facilities and works with UPEI for certification of foreign veterinarians wanting to obtain their Canadian permit.

The powerhouse that is The Greater Moncton SPCA is one of many important animal shelters around Canada. They are fuelled by good intention, love for our furry friends and your help and generosity!

Whether it’s a commitment to dog-walking, a monthly donation, a legacy gift, fostering, your own creative contribution, or your morning cup of coffee you’re helping an animal get a second change at a happy life.

We greatly appreciate the support we receive from the community!
